About Mikaela Chen

As a Human Resources Management and Psychology Master's graduate, I am passionate about helping people. I have had many opportunities to hone my skills in aiding others whether that means leading or supporting. In college I was able to experience the precise, fast-paced business school as well as the creative, energy-intensive music school. Because of this, I have learned to be flexible and have developed my ability to work well in high-pressure situations. I have also learned to pay attention to the details without losing sight of the big picture as well as when it is appropriate to take the lead and when to follow. Through my experiences, I have been able to play every role in a team as well as learn how to work alone efficiently. Through various volunteering experiences, I have learned even more about compassion, service, humility, and teamwork. I have also had the fortune of working with children, tutoring students in math ranging from elementary school through high school. This has taught me more about patience, empathy, and has exercised my creativity in finding multiple ways to explain concepts in a way that students of all ages will understand.
