About Mike Bazelon

With almost 30 years of industry experience—beginning in IT in 1996—and over a decade in cybersecurity (since 2013), I have served as a branch-level leader since 2017, specializing in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) across complex federal environments. As Branch Chief at the Social Security Administration, I led the migration from TPAM to CyberArk, implemented a 5-year PAM roadmap, modernized Active Directory security, and achieved a 90%+ reduction in unauthorized software usage. Over the years, I’ve managed teams of up to 20 employees and 40 contractors—though my current team is smaller—and have overseen multi-million-dollar budgets supporting PAM and Zero Trust initiatives. I’ve also built risk-based frameworks to evaluate privileged access and helped drive least privilege adoption across the enterprise. I hold CISSP and CISM certifications, a Master’s in Cybersecurity, and bring deep experience in audit readiness, CDM, and federal security compliance. I’m passionate about improving identity governance, reducing risk, and helping agencies implement scalable, modern access controls.
