With more than 25 years of consulting and vendor-side experience, Mike Beals is a leader and expert in License and cost optimization for large software estates. As VP of Advisory Services at NPI for the past four years, he has managed a team that delivered hundreds of successful optimization projects spanning vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, IBM, Workday, Adobe and more. Prior to NPI, he founded Governance Academy, which provided training to outsourcing governance professionals. Mike previously worked with Fortune 500 clients to assess, design, and build sourcing and strategic supplier management capabilities. He served as the Managing Director of the Governance Practice at EquaTerra (now KPMG) and VP, Software of EquaSiis, EquaTerra’s software subsidiary. Prior to EquaTerra, Mike was a VP and Practice Lead of META Group’s Sourcing Practice (now Gartner). He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, at West Point, and served in various capacities as an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army.
