About Mike Busada

Mike is a municipal bond and economic development finance attorney representing the state and local governments, economic development organizations, school districts, 501(c)(3)s, and major companies. Mike has represented clients across the state on economic development financing transactions representing over $15.5 billion in capital investment including representing the state of Louisiana in one of the largest economic development projects in state history. Additionally, Mike represents local governments and school districts throughout Louisiana as bond counsel. Mike served as the Chair of the National Association of Bonds Lawyers’ (NABL) Governmental Affairs Committee (2022-2024) and served on NABL’s 2022 nominating committee. Mike recently was a co-author of the Council of Development Finance Agencies' Bond Finance Guide. Mike is a member of Louisiana’s Committee of 100 for Economic Development and the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association. In 2010, Mike was instrumental in working with the state legislature to amend the state’s Payment In Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) economic development law to provide for more security to local governmental bodies. Recently, Mike wrote the law establishing Louisiana’s mega site economic development program, the Louisiana Competes Regional Economic Development Program.
