About Mike Buttery

Creating change in the world is sometimes a very hard path to follow. I’m on a journey to make changes for the better, on behalf of my family, and the children of tomorrow. Step by step. That journey is only possible by combining technology, people, and relationships, and using them to forge new ways of thinking, working, and delivering results. I’ve collaborated with innovative companies to bring waterless flush technology to areas where water is scarce, and supported breakthrough mineral exploration methods that are environmentally friendly. I came from a background in science. and came to realise that the dyeing industry is largely responsible from dramatic deterioration in and depletion of vital water resources. Yet we often ignore the technologies that make waste reduction possible, stating “we’ve always done it this way.” I don’t believe we can hide behind that sentence any longer. Sadly, many who believe in ideals like waste reduction, efficiency gains that drive ecological improvements, or empowering and enabling those less fortunate often fail to grasp the power of real relationships which can make a difference. Having cut my teeth in consulting work, I realised that power really lay in the depth of the connections I created. I became strategic about those relationships. My network knows that my ethics, and morals are unshakeable. They have allowed me to stay focused and, importantly, deliver on what I say I will. Too many get lost in trying to do too much, too quickly. This often results in ‘boiling the ocean’ and delivering very little as a result. I find this incredibly frustrating, because along the way, some amazing technologies that could have fundamentally changed the world have been lost to us all. I work in a few diverse areas, but what unites these, is my passion for delivering positive change, globally. This passion underpins every business decision, whether it's partnering with environmentally responsible mining operations or innovating healthcare solutions within the NHS. I’ve built a solid and reliable network around me, comprising folks who can deliver on what they say they will, and more. And I believe that’s the difference. Stay focused. Be targeted.
