About Mike Buzard

I am an experienced cybersecurity professional with a professional background of 10+ years in auditing, accreditation, certification, and compliance experience, including leading diverse teams over more than 70 international compliance and certification assessments, and 90+ public speaking and training engagements with clients and regulatory agencies around the globe. I perform information security assessments for Cloud Service Providers offering IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS products to government agencies. I also assist consulting clients with practical improvement of security practices and documentation of policies and procedures to assist with compliance to NIST, FISMA, and DoD CC SRG requirements. I am proficient in using, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Linux environments, as well as small (SOHO) networks. My software development experience includes use of Python, C, and C++ in various small projects. At home, I am working on expanding my security knowledge base in monitoring, analysis, and penetration testing through home lab creation and traffic monitoring to bolster my defensive security skills, as well as CTFs to develop offensive security knowledge.
