About Mike Carollo

I’ve worked in the construction industry for over 35 years holding a variety of field, supervisory and management positions. Starting out as a laborer and concrete foreman in Montana and later moving to Oregon where I completed my second college degree at Oregon State University. After that I moved to Denver to continue in the industry in a variety of management positions. My journey has been unique in that I primarily worked for two construction companies in the 22 year period prior to starting at Sage in 2011. I have worked on a variety of projects including treatment plants, power plants, aerospace fabrication facilities, schools, churches, office buildings, clean rooms and water and sewer projects. As the Owner of a small construction company, I was required to wear a number of hats. My focus in recent years was work acquisition and development. We took a number of projects from the conceptual stage, through planning and development to final construction. In recent years I have also been an instructor in the Construction Technology Department at Red Rocks Community College. I have enjoyed the contact with the students with various levels of construction experience. Providing students the basic toolbox of skills needed for estimating, scheduling and project management is very satisfying. Teaching also keeps my toolbox current and helps me to maintain good estimating and scheduling habits. One of the newest topics I have been exploring professionally and educationally is Building Information Technology (BIM). This technology is changing the way the work is done in the industry and will only increase in use in the future. I have been involved in my city (Lakewood, CO) government for a number of years serving two terms on the Board of Appeals and am in the middle of my second term on the Board of Adjustment. I am also Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Lakecliffe Condominiums in Dillon, CO.
