Background
About Mike Chalmers
Finding and negotiating the best possible deal is in my DNA, thus my role as a Finance Specialist, helping both individuals and businesses secure the best possible deal for all their Finance needs. I worked originally in an executive strategic role within a major multi-national. From there I established a highly successful national branding/merchandising business, with a global procurement focus, which I sold some 20 years later. After which I ran a boutique consulting business, helping mid-sized businesses negotiate better deals across all their key cost areas. I have long enjoyed property development as well as assisting other investors. I also serve and have served on several Boards including: Food on the Table - Chair Food on the Table.org.au A local charity I cofounded in 2017, now supplying meals per year to vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our community. Homelessness SA - Current Chair Providing a voice for those experiencing homelessness, we are a member body comprising representatives from most of the major players in this sector. Pickstar: Created by AFL players including Matthew Pavlich, Pickstar creates connections between elite athletes who seek opportunities off-field and businesses wanting access to these athletes. Concordia College Foundation: The Foundation develops assets and investments to ensure the continuing independence and financial security of the College. Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO): With a global membership of business owners (average revenue $5-10m+), EO aims to build the world's most influential community of entrepreneurs. Accessible Housing Providing affordable housing and services for disabled and socially disadvantaged people. REISA Buyers Committee Other important jobs which I love, are as husband to Alison and Dad to Rachel and Tom. I also mentor many younger entrepreneurs on an ongoing basis, which I have a real passion for. My work-in-progress is to try and make some small difference in the world, and help some of those huge number of people who aren't as fortunate, as those of us whose time is occupied with 'first-world problems' such as what will I say in my LinkedIn Profile?
