About Mike Conklin

As Chairman and CEO of Sentinels of Freedom, I bring over two decades of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector. My work is rooted in a deep commitment to supporting severely wounded and injured post-9/11 U.S. Armed Forces veterans as they transition to civilian life. I've been honored as an Honorary Member of the Army 75th Ranger Regiment and the US Army Signal Corps, and the Outstanding Civilian Service Award by the Department of the Army. I've focused the last two decades on creating meaningful opportunities for veterans through education, mentorship, and organizational leadership. In 2026, we are expanding our free services to all post- 9/11 veterans in educational and job placement endeavors Sentinels of Freedom is a national 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering post-9/11 veterans by offering comprehensive personal support tailored to their needs. We help these courageous individuals complete higher education, secure career-focused employment, achieve financial independence, and navigate their post-military lives with dignity. Our specialties include mentoring programs, financial coaching, case management coordination, networking opportunities, career transition assistance, and living subsidies—all aimed at addressing gaps in resources while fostering long-term success for our recipients.
