About Mike Day

My 20+ years of Management experience has provided me a variety of exposures including the management of teams within: Production Support, Application Development, Services, Project Management and Resource centric organizations. I have found a passion (and expertise) for developing talent so that our Organization can maximize the natural strengths of an individual which creates a win/win scenario for all parties involved. In addition to people development, I am a highly detailed/organized individual. This strength has provided me opportunities to become involved in larger process related efforts, especially when it comes to setting things up for the first time. I have experience both in setting up organizational processes as well as training teams from the ground up. Within my current Company, I have been a community leader within the IT Manager job family for those individuals operating in the Resource Manager role. I have led community sessions sharing best practices, I have created and distributed tools to help organize and manage team sizes spanning 30 plus direct reports, and I was part of the leadership team involved with the rollout and role definition of the Resource Manager role across all of IT. I am currently leading a team of project portfolio analysts who are responsible for: staffing (forecasting, slotting, and triaging of supply capacity), platform governance (platform approval and prioritization), project initiation (business case and ROM generation) project schedule support, and data/analysis services. This services team purpose is to support the multiple IT platforms that make up the Personal Lines IT portfolio of work and applications. In addition to owning this team and customer, I also own the staffing analyst profession (COE) which spans support for all IT organizations across the enterprise. Ownership entails items related to staffing process, tools, and roadmap efforts around how this specific service will mature year over year. My future goals are to continue being part of an organization that allows me to participate in enterprise wide initiatives while simultaneously coaching/developing staff in a way that positively impacts the return on investment for the Company I am working for.
