I've been working in the tech field since 2015, a far cry from my original intentions to teach history or write books for a living. In this time, I've developed new skills and improved upon a series of basic fundamentals I learned at my previous employment. My current role as a services/support coordinator is more than simply data entry as I am also reviewing the work of electrical engineers, writing and maintaining process documentation for large accounts, and work to train outside my current scope in preparation for the next paradigm shift. A more recent example of this was a more in-depth familiarization with ITAR/EAR compliance and working to understand the fundamentals of Project and Risk Management. Instead of just working with the teams at a surface level. I've also been the single point of contact for a large account that works almost exclusively through my current office and have taken on being said contact for newly acquired business. This requires me to consistently provide accurate, timely information. As well as establishing and maintaining a rapport with the client(s). This goes beyond simply providing excellent service and can/has included being involved in quarterly business reviews, contract negations, and root cause analysis. I dislike redundancy and repeated manual work. It infringes on efficiency, so a goal of mine is to the find the most efficient path while still adhering to any process or regulation. This could be as simply as automating a report or as complex as recommending a system overhaul to remove defunct assets. Outside of the office I'm an author who originally cut his teeth with fantasy novels but in the years since have also produced two financial books and a self-help book. I do some freelance writing on the side under a pen name and have been involved with multiple market investment strategies. My preferred being dividend, over long term growth stocks.
