About Mike Escobar

I currently work as a Food Distributions and Community Service Programs supervisor for a Northern Nevada nonprofit organization. I have more than eight years of military experience in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the Nevada Army National Guard. I'm a bilingual/bicultural Colombian-American who speaks, reads, and writes English and Spanish fluently. I've also worked in various positions within the world of education for more than 10 years and have experience teaching in K-12 classroom settings, as an athletic coach, as a student activities/club advisor, and as lead instructor at two martial arts studios. My clients have been people aged 5 - 60+, and I've instructed them via lectures, discussions, multimedia, projects, field trips, and practical application exercises. I've obtained two certifications in personal training. I'm skilled in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). My various occupations over the years have been supported by a Bachelor of Science in Education with a dual focus in Social Studies education and Business education.
