About Mike Gogan

Some call it Tone of Voice, others Verbal Identity, but for me, it’s Customer Language. It’s a natural and human way to engage with customers; to tell, to sell, to compel. I write content that connects businesses to their audience. I've won two national awards for writing and promoting plain English. I have spent some 750 hours training over people on Tone of Voice at AIB Group, leading the change from bank language to accessible customer language. This programme helped transform our culture over the past eight years. And it has gone some way towards increasing employee engagement. At the same time I run courses for Dark Angels, the world’s only residential creative writing programme for business. I am a Trustee of AIB Group Pension Scheme.
