Served as the first CEO of Misean Cara, an Irish membership non-governmental organisation focused on supporting overseas development projects and programmes Consistently acknowledged as a passionate and professional leader. Skilled in building inspiring organisational cultures while concurrently establishing and fostering a dedication to good practice. Adept at efficiently disbursing significant budgets in support of good development work. Initial expertise earned as a volunteer teacher in Lesotho, southern Africa and later as both a desk officer and Programme Manager for the Agency for Personal Service Overseas (APSO). Efficaciously directed operations at multiple (15) regional/country offices across the globe, including sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia and Central America. During 2018/19, based in Chipata, Zambia, was centrally involved in the areas of disability inclusion and climate change mitigation. Worked closely with a newly created Organisation for People with Disabilities in Chipata, focused on disability inclusive education for young Zambians with disabilities. Other work included engaging with local councils in improving accessibility for rural women with disabilities to local services, especially water. Completed a 14 month contract as Interim Programmes Manager with CBM Ireland (maternity leave). Built strong relationship with the team in Ireland, with the country teams and across the federation generally. Led the preparation of CBM Ireland's ICSP funding proposal to Irish Aid.
