About Mike Hill

Mike is the a consultant to McGrathNicol in Queensland having been one of its founding Partners and specialises in dispute advisory, forensic investigations and business reviews. Mike is also a registered liquidator. A chartered accountant with over 30 years experience, Mike has extensive experience in the preparation of expert reports as part of legal proceedings and conducting investigations on behalf of government, companies and financiers and undertaking governance reviews of independent schools for the Queensland and Commonwealth governments. Mike has undertaken a range of insolvency matters often appointed following applications by ASIC including in relation to cryptocurrency assets and breaches by companies of their AFSL licences. Mike is also a Director of an Approved Superannuation Trustee that has been appointed by APRA to the Trio superannuation funds as a result of Australia's largest ever superannuation fraud. This has involved investigating the circumstances of the fraud and successfully launching an application to the Commonwealth Government for compensation. Mike has also recently been appointed as the Chair of Foodbank Queensland, the largest food rescue organisation in Queensland that provided the equivalent of 26 million meals to individuals suffering from food insecurity in FY22. Mike has been a director of Foodbank Queensland for six years and prior to becoming the chair he was the chair of the Finance Audit & Risk Committee, the chair of the steering committee overseeing the implementation of an ERP system and the chair of the warehouse fundraising committee. Mike has extensive experience in dealing with governance matters and director's duties. He also has a strong focus on dealing with risk issues, having formerly been McGrathNicol's risk partner for four years. Mike is also a founding member of McGrathNicol's Diversity & Inclusion Coimmittee.
