Mike graduated from the University of Alberta in 1985 with a B.Sc.(Eng.) in Electrical Engineering and from Caltech in 1991 with a Ph.D. in Applied Physics. He is a Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia, a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and is an inventor on nine issued US patents.
