I am an analytical chemist with 10 years of experience in redox biology, specializing in the analysis, chemistry, and biology of oxidative modifications on lipids and proteins. Over the past 8 years, I have developed and applied LCMS-based lipidomics methods to analyze mammalian tissues, biofluids, cultured cells, and subcellular preparations. My expertise includes extensive experience in sample preparation, pre-analytical lipid separation, LCMS parameter optimization, data acquisition, lipid identification, lipid quantification, statistical analysis, as well as instrument maintenance and repair. In the past 4 years, I have gained extensive experience in cell biology, using chemical biology tools to study cell death phenomena associated with the accumulation of toxic oxidized lipids. This work has involved the generation and use of genome-edited cancer cell models and classical molecular biology techniques. The unique combination of advanced analytical techniques and expertise in redox biology as well as cell biology provides me with an interdisciplinary toolkit to answer previously unanswered questions about cellular lipid quality control.
