About Mike Mathioudakis

Mike attended the University of Notre Dame where he played football and double majored in Accounting and Philosophy. Upon graduation in 1985 Mike worked for the Indianapolis office of Price Waterhouse. Mike became a financial advisor in 1987 and has focused his entire career on serving the needs of successful business owners. Mike has always had a strong passion to help successful business owners integrate their business, personal and philanthropic planning so as to maximize both their impact and their wealth with maximum tax efficiency. Mike has assisted scores of families in developing and implementing business succession and wealth transfer plans that significantly reduced or completely eliminated capital gains tax as well as estate and other transfer taxes. Mike founded The Genesis Group in 1994 and became a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in 1995. Mike quickly developed clients in many parts of the country, serving clients from Oregon to Arizona to Florida, with large concentrations of clients in Florida, Chicago and Indiana. During Mike’s time with Genesis, Mike developed a large network of successful business owner clients. In the early many of Mike’s business owner clients began implementing succession plans that resulted in selling their businesses to public companies or private equity firms, selling to ESOPs or transferring them to partners or family members. These transactions totaled in the billions in total sales value. Mike also became active in the private equity space in the late '90s and has assisted many business owners in the capitalization of their businesses. Mike now focuses his energies assisting closely-held business owners in transferring their business ownership to Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). Mike frequently serves as an ESOP Trustee in these transactions, working with businesses across the country. Mike is also an active angel funder. He is a member of Keiretsu Forum Midwest. In 2022 Mike co-founded Anavah Health, a med-tech company that is revolutionizing the adult incontinence market with its Know-Able "smart diaper" technology. This transformative technology will radically disrupt the adult incontinence market when it hits the market in mid 2023. Currently, our most frail incontinent seniors in long term care facilities spend an average of 36 hours/week in soiled undergarments, which in addition to being extremely degrading, leads to horrific health outcomes. Our solution will elevate the dignity of our most frail seniors while also improving their health & quality of life.
