About Mike Petro

I have concentrated my career in the various Industrial Computer and Automation disciplines. I am ideally suited for a Manufacturing IS/IT Systems Administrator, i.e. IT/OT, position as I am intimately familiar with the IT world, Manufacturing Control Systems, and the Production world's sense of urgency. Over 30 years of experience in the areas of Factory Automation, Process Control, Instrumentation, Computer technology & Project Management. Helped to install and maintain complete plant wide DCS/SCADA systems utilizing a wide variety of instruments to monitor and control various process situations. Experience includes calibration, installation, and tuning of a wide variety of controllers and instruments, from simple process control loops in a manufacturing plant to complex loops found in Steam Power Plants. On the Computer side, I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer with 20 years’ experience as Network Administrator in a manufacturing environment, familiar with AD, servers, networking, permissions, WIFI, mobile computing, and database administration. I have integrated PCs, PC Controls, PLCs, microprocessor based controllers, Robotics, and Human Machinery Interface (HMI) systems, with a variety of Databases and Supervisory Systems. The databases included custom databases (many of which I wrote myself), ERP systems, SCADA Systems (FactoryTalk, Wonderware, etc.), WMS Systems, and CMMS systems. My specialties include automating the Production data collection process, creating professional quality Production reports, and writing extremely user-friendly interfaces for the factory floor personnel. I have managed many projects, as high as $2M+, from presenting project proposal, establishing scope, accepting bids, managing implementation, and always met budget\timelines.
