Organic farmer and maintenance account manager by day, graphic designer and builder by night. Over the last 6 years I have helped elevate a Fairfield county start-up into a successful small business that designs, builds, and maintains organic vegetable gardens for private residences, schools, and businesses. This position has given me the opportunity to work as an organic farmer during the spring, summer, and fall while utilizing my graphic design and construction skills in the offseason. Managing and maintaining 30-40 gardens a season has required extensive knowledge of permaculture, plant biology, garden design principles (aesthetic and practical), crop rotation, soil science, companion plantings, integrated pest management, organic pesticides, and customer service in order to ensure premium client satisfaction. Weekly client communication allows me to manage expectations and optimize performance. As the sole in-house graphic designer I've used my knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite to advertise and organize all business materials, including but not limited to: print advertisements, product catalogs, promotional material, training documents, t-shirts, charts, and surveys. Last winter I served as the construction manager for a 100' x 35' state-of-the-art industrial greenhouse with radiant heated floors and roll up walls. This position required management of a crew of builders to complete the project in under two months during the winter. With the growing season around the corner, the pressure was on and the job was completed.
