About Mike Schaefer

Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer (licensed in Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri with LEED accreditation. I have a high interest in improving building construction's impact on energy usage. I've been able to use my passion for energy conservation throughout the nation with various HVAC systems. I utilize my project experience, knowledge of sustainabe design with energy modeling (softwares including eQUEST, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, and EnergyPro) and conversations with associates to develop projects that create a succesful design for owners and the environment. My energy efficient, comfort driven designs have been incorporated into prototype development for small and mid-sized retail clients, natatoriums, offices buildings, schools, restaurants and unconventional facilities. I've utilized high efficiency boilers, energy recovery, underfloor air distribution, displacement ventilation, self-sensing pumps, building automation controls, demand control ventilation, both dehumidification and humidificaiton systems, variable air volume systems, and thermal comfort standards coupled with experience to create optimized HVAC systems.
