I've applied my skills at algorithms, application development, and software architecture to software systems at all scales up to large frameworks and systems, on a variety of operating systems and hardware architectures. It's a good thing I love learning so much! I've also learned different software industries, from scientific computing to oilfield services, e-Commerce, enterprise business software, a small start-up, huge PORs (Programs of Record) in the military, cyber-security, and health-care. Some of the great teams I've worked in are still connected many years later; the synergy can create a lasting bond. And projects with a high geek-factor are very fun, especially when I get to bring math, physics, and analytics to the project. For the last 3 years at Evariant, I've been working on a Hadoop platform for ETL and analytics on health-care data, using Kafka, HBase, Hive, Spark, and integrating with Salesforce, Netezza, and HL7 feeds. We're currently moving to use AWS and microservices.
