Integrity, doing what I say I will, and allowing people to put their trust in me is how I’ve gained a reputation in my career as a person you can count on to get things done safely. I am not just concerned about physical safety but understand psychological safety and its impact on individuals and culture within an organization and am a first responder for such situations and events. I ensure all people are working in a safe and inclusive environment and I work diligently in delivering the message of no work place harassment or bullying and present to the workforce the expectations and values related to this culture. The mentoring of people and building of their skill set is one of my passions, I have helped many individuals advance their careers into being people leaders, and have established apprenticeships within organizations building individuals within the local communities. I have worked in many facets of maintenance, from commissioning a start up in a mill, to open pit mobile equipment, my experience is broad with all aspects of mining equipment and my approach as a supervisor or people leader is to work with the people on the job to help assess and maintain with boots on the ground and not an armchair assessment. I recently changed direction and was a Mill operations general foreperson and Mill Manager when the manager was away, this was a very steep learning process for myself as I had no former experience, but this was successful with the growth of individuals into supervisory positions and the progression of individuals within the group to great advancements within their careers, I lead the group successfully with an excellent safety record, no LTI’s and no serious potential incidents, excellent recovery 97%+ and systems upgrade projects while ensuring we met our budget targets. Most recently I helped in the creation of a new team to replace a contractor serviced maintenance unit within an organization with a very quick possession process and timeframe with great success. I am currently within a new role and am looking forward to all of the new success and the future ahead.
