Background
About Mike Shamburger
My name is Mike Shamburger, and I've recently received the MFA in Web Design & New Media at the Academy of Art University (AAU) in San Franciso. From a very early age I've had a passion for the arts - musical, visual, performance, & culinary. I'm focusing on the visual arts now, but for my Bachelor's degree I studied music performance. For my Master's, I wanted to combine my passion for visual arts with the practical career opportunities in interactive design on the web and mobile devices. I began my studies at AAU in Fall 2009 in order to gain the skills I needed to be an intuitive & innovative graphic web designer. During the term of my education I also discovered an interest in web usability. I'm really interested in the psychology of how people interact with computers and software, and I am interested in pursuing a career path that would help improve the usability of the web.
