About Mike Trimborn

After 23 years in the tech world—managing teams, launching products, and learning way more than I ever expected about test and measurement—I decided to switch gears and pursue what had quietly mattered to me most: helping people heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves and others. Now, as a counselor at Westlake Psychotherapy of Austin, I work with individuals and couples navigating grief, low self-worth, trauma, and relationship struggles. I use a person-centered approach and incorporate evidence-based practices like EMDR, Coherence Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. My clients appreciate that I bring both compassion and structure to the therapy room—a byproduct of spending two decades in engineering meetings. Whether it’s navigating difficult emotions or debugging long-standing patterns, I’m here for the work of making life feel more connected, meaningful, and manageable.
