Passionate about mental health advocacy, I'm Mikell Smith, a Qualified Mental Health Professional with a strong background in psychology. As a published author of "Still A Mom: Navigating Life After Pregnancy Loss," I share my insights and experiences to support individuals through challenging life transitions. With a BS in Psychology and a track record of academic excellence, including a 4.0 GPA, I've honed my skills in understanding human behavior and addressing mental health challenges. My previous role in property management provided me with invaluable experience in serving diverse communities, including the elderly and disabled.Currently, I'm dedicated to making a difference as part of the YES waiver program, where I assist youth aged 3-18 facing mental health and behavioral issues. I'm committed to providing them with the support they need to thrive and avoid displacement. I earned my BS in Psychology on December 2nd, 2023, and am a proud member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) since March 2023. As an accomplished author, I published "Still A Mom" on my birthday, July 8, 2020, offering valuable insights into navigating life after pregnancy loss. Additionally, I hold certifications in Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) and Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA), demonstrating my commitment to excellence in mental health care.My mission is to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), specializing in trauma and crisis intervention for children. I'm deeply passionate about psychology and serving as an advocate for children's mental health. With training in trauma-informed care and crisis management, I'm dedicated to making a meaningful impact in their lives.
