About Mikhqail Nasrat

Mikhqail is currently attached to FWD Technology and Innovation Malaysia (Shared Service) based in Malaysia. With an eager mind, he is learning the ropes of the conventional and takaful insurance industry in the region whilst actively pursuing Associateship under the Society of Actuaries (SOA). As a senior actuarial analyst, Mikhqail has been involved with Prophet model migration and reconciliation with centralised model as part of acquisition process, Prophet model maintenance and optimisation for Emerging Markets, preparation of Value of New Business (VNB) reporting to evaluate VNB margin and New Business Strain (NBS), conducted experience study as part of assumptions setting process, performed 5-year Business Projection (BP) to identify projected performance of company on a year-on-year basis and steer company direction and other ad-hoc projects. During his time with Actuarial Partners, Mikhqail worked on profit testing and pricing of insurance products, analysing financial condition of insurance/takaful operator, creating statistical exhibits that depict projected financial results, and updating of financial models for the valuation process of operators’ reserves to meet future claims and expenses. Mikhqail began his career with Great Eastern Life as an Actuarial Pricing Executive. In Actuarial Pricing, he was responsible in assisting his team members with the release of a new investment-linked product. His work mostly revolved around User Acceptance Testing (UAT) which allowed him the opportunity to familiarise himself with the insurance products in the industry and the standards and guidelines which regulate the insurance industry in Malaysia. Prior to this, Mikhqail was a Motor Underwriting Intern with Great Eastern General where he was involved in quantifying the impact of de-tariffication of motor insurance to the company and constructing a revised de-tariff table for the pricing of Commercial Vehicles. Mikhqail's career aspiration is to become a corporate leader and find ways to contribute to the society.
