About Miki Ito

I am bilingual in English and Japanese. I have over 10 years of experience as an IT Risk Manager with Protiviti, a global consulting firm in Tokyo. I led projects and built strong relationships with 20+ clients across 7+ countries. My work included conducting and supervising audit testing to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) in both the U.S. and Japan, the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (Japan), and the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Japan). I have worked in various industries, including financial services, manufacturing, trading, and cloud-based software. Prior to this, I spent 4 years as a system engineer with one of Japan’s leading IT integrators, where I developed and upgraded multiple systems and led a team of 7 engineers. Additionally I served as the chair of the parent activity group and a board member at my son’s daycare, where I organized monthly events, led fundraising efforts, and addressed various issues. Currently, I volunteer at my son’s elementary school as a chaperone of after school enrichment, teacher assistant, lunch / recess helper, or whatever I can do. These volunteer roles have strengthened my soft skills and deepened my understanding of early childhood education in the U.S.
