About Milan Harris

I'm a center director of an after school program, Higher Achievement with a master's degree in Social Justice and Human Rights, graduating with a 4.0. I also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Howard University in 2019. After my time at Howard, I served in the Peace Corps as a Youth Development Volunteer in the Dominican Republic. I worked at the John Hopkins CTY program as a Program Assistant, as well as an intern at the PEN/Faulkner foundation. Additionally, I have interned on Capitol Hill with Congressman Elijah E. Cummings. Most of my experience, however, lies in various research endeavors at Arizona State University, the University of California-Davis, University of Maryland-College Park, and Howard University. In addition, I have served as a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) fellow through Rutgers University. I studied abroad at Universidad Veritas in San Jose, Costa Rica for a semester, and I have an advanced knowledge of Spanish. Currently, I'm also the co-founder and co-editor of Amani Sol Magazine. Additionally, I was previously a writer for the online collegiate journal The Odyssey, Caged Bird Magazine, and Lindsey's Kloset, where I was also an editor. I am certified in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, as well as Microsoft Powerpoint. I also have expertise in customer relations and in written and verbal communication skills. Further, I graduated high school with my AA degree due to a dual enrollment program in Baltimore County.
