Background

About Milan Rother

I create numerical simulation and scientific computing tools with a focus on usability and "elegance"(whatever that may mean). My flagship project is PathSim – a Python framework for simulating interconnected dynamical systems. Compared to other frameworks of this kind, PathSim pushes some unorthodox decisions to its limits. One of them being a fully decentralized architecture where the blocks are fundamentally independent which allows for parallelization and great flexibility. Other then that the framework enables flexible runtime system modification, linearization (block, subsystem or system level) and end-to-end differentiability (automatic differentiation) through both continuous dynamics and discrete events (zero-crossing detection and resolution). Check out my GitHub to see all my projects: GitHub: https://github.com/milanofthe. or the documentation of PathSim: Documentation: https://pathsim.readthedocs.io As a Research Associate, I've additionally developed- EDA tools for automatic DRC-clean inductor and transformer generation (Python, GDSII)- A hybrid circuit-EM simulator for multiport bio-impedance calculation with hierarchical domain discretization (Python, C++)- An impedance spectroscopy system for lab on chip applications (Altium Designer, C)- Broadband dispersive tissue models using vector-fitting and numerical convolution. and worked on - Algorithms for microwave imaging for breast-cancer detection with FMCW radar - Multimode deembedding techniques (VNA, S-Parameter)
