About Mildred Budny

My work and interests integrate a wide range of materials, subjects, and fields of expertise. My own research, masterclasses, and publications focus on multiple aspects of the transmission of the past from Antiquity through the Middle Ages and Early Modernity, and beyond. As Director of the Research Group on Manuscript Evidence, a New Jersey Nonprofit Educational Corporation, I manage the corporation and organize or co-organize its varied activities, including workshops, conference sessions, and symposia. A principal publication, presenting results of integrated research over 7 years, is my own 2-volume illustrated catalogue of "Insular, Anglo-Saxon, and Early Anglo-Norman Manuscript Art at Corpus Christi College"(1997), obtainable here: http://manuscriptevidence.org/wpme/orders/. Its integrated approach to manuscript studies, like that of the Research Group on Manuscript Evidence, derives from detailed, interdisciplinary examination of the monuments.
