About Miles Beharrell

In the 1990's, while a client of Redmayne Bentley's Bury St Edmunds branch, Miles achieved some notoriety by winning several national investment competitions run by the BBC and the Investors Chronicle. This not only resulted in some fabulous holidays to Japan and the US but more importantly the seed of future opportunity was sewn. The favourable publicity meant that Miles was able to turn his madly enthusiastic passion for investment into a profession. Miles chose Redmayne Bentley as the firm he wished to represent as he had experienced the company and its traditional approach at first hand from his time as a client. In the midst of the financial storms that resulted from the collapse of Long Term Capital Management in 1998 the Hitchin Branch of Redmayne Bentley opened its doors for business. The mission statement was the same then as it is now - look after a small amount of clients as well as you possibly can. Simple. This mantra is evident today. Miles and his team strive to offer a down to earth and personal service to all their clients whether they be requiring execution only dealing or the full range of investment management services. Now, nearly twenty years after that opening and with a dot.com boom and bust, a couple of wars and the most serious financial crisis since the 1930s under his belt Miles has seen the bad times and occasionally some good times! Throughout the challenges of modern day Investment Management, he maintains a cheery disposition and believes firmly that common sense is a key component of superior investment returns. Miles is from the legendary Peter Lynch mould (One Up on Wall Street) and believes the best investment opportunities are in the themes and ideas that are staring in our faces every day. He likes nothing better than seeing a new idea or product and then investigating who is going to profit from the opportunity.
