About Miller Robert

I am a Senior Special Counsel to the Deputy Directors in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA). I work directly with the Deputy Directors and provide assistance, advice, and legal opinions on regulatory policy issues that require the personal attention and action of the Deputy Directors. Furthermore, I participate in meetings held with Commission senior management and serve as the Deputy Directors' representative in activities with other Federal Regulators, State Securities Agencies, and SROs. I recently became DERA's liaison to the Commission's Crypto Task Force. I began my career with the SEC in March I have supervised, led, and coordinated a variety of examinations involving the following issues: indications of potential abusive naked short selling; the sale of 529 Plans to out-of- state residents; the activities of Municipal Advisors; the actions of Fixed Income Alternative Trading Systems. I supervised a unit compose of Staff Attorneys and Examiners that focuses on the examination of Municipal Advisors. Prior to joining the Commission, I spent 2 ½ years as a Senior Compliance Examiner in FINRA’s Enforcement Dept. Previously, I spent a year as a Law Clerk at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia’s Office of Bar Counsel.
