About Millie Bearman

I have always being passionate about helping people and animals and I am specifically very interested in assisting people with their mental health and life goals. I am currently an Administration Support Officer for the Department of Justice and Community Safety and enjoy working in a small team to meet the deeadlines every fortnight for our pay run. This role has given me confidence and opened up my mind to the workings of the corrections system. I especially enjoy that I am now a peer support officer that is trainned to listen and support my fellow staff members with any struggles that they are facing in the workplace or at home. I like to look at a situation with a holistic approach and look at how I can take experiences I have gained throughout my career and life and use that to work through a situation or help someone else with that knowledge. I see myself as a very empathetic person that has a lot of understanding and patience for the people around her andtries her best to listen and think about others in a non judgmental way. Animals and their welfare have always been a huge passion of mine and I try to incorpoate that into my career and life however I can. In a mental health based roleI would love to train up a therapy dog and have that assist me with making other people feel safe and supported in their environment.
