About Millie Dewasi

As the Chief Financial Services Ecosystem at UBX Tanzania Limited, I manage international and domestic payment systems for various clients, including telecommunication companies, banks, and fintech companies. I provide operational and execution guidance, assess client needs, plan for future growth, and evaluate and deploy new operational processes to support international product offerings. I also partner with Operations/Risk to build and ensure a first line of defense process for operations and business. I have over six years of experience in marketing and sales and over five years of experience in digital payments and project management. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and International Business from Swinburne University of Technology. I am passionate about payment and the role technology has played in creating financial inclusion for many across Africa. I enjoy working with financial schemes such as Umoja, Visa, Mastercard, and Union Pay, and collaborating with banks, MNOs, and institutions to bring growth and development to many people across Africa. My goal is to work with fintech companies and NGOs that bring e-payment solutions to the unbanked and underbanked population in Tanzania, where transactions are still heavily cash based.
