Family practice physician with 25 years outpatient and 13 years inpatient experience. HCQM certified. Medical director and creator of the Bartlett Regional Hospital Hospitalist program (pilot 2016, start date 1/2017). Extensive quality improvement and patient safety experience. Worked for the NC QIO for 10 years in multiple areas including Emtala reviews, medicare and medicaid chart review, beneficiary complaints and utilization review. Previously medical director for 3CI, a URAC accredited utilization review company. Previously a physician at both Duke and UNC. Associate medical director for QI in the UNC community out patient network. Partnered with Joint commission on a patient handoff project and publication. She is the winner of the 2018 Golden Stethoscope award for patient safety work, sponsored by ASHNA (Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association) She was an invited speaker to the 2014 Patient Safety Summit.
