I am a highly experienced H.E level Mandarin teacher, examiner and course designer/administrator(including online courses) I have worked for some of the UK’s leading universities, including London School of Economic and the University of Edinburgh. Leadership and Management I am the course organizer for many courses also act as Program coordinator for Foundation Chinese courses (those courses open for non Chinese degree students) at the University of Edinburgh. Teaching Skills and Experience I am a qualified language teacher who has considerable experience of teaching H.E Chinese across different levels and age groups. I have over 15 years varied teaching experience, supported by four years pedagogical training at university. At H.E level, I have taught and examined from Undergraduate 1st to 4th year levels, as well as Postgraduate levels and have a particular interest in Online Learning and the pedagogical applications of technology, such as Quizlet, Socrative and Google tools, etc. Course Design and Administration I have helped to shape a number of H.E level Mandarin courses; designing syllabi, course handbooks and marking criteria at Edinburgh University. In addition, I have designed and currently administer my own online Chinese learning website for students at the University of Edinburgh: https://sites.google.com/view/minyuechinese. I also have designed some Pre-paid websites on Chinese exams, like HSK tests. Materials Design/Examinations Creation Throughout my Mandarin teaching career, I have created materials for speaking, listening, reading and writing classes at University Level. I am also a highly experienced exam/test designer, and have created, analysed and revised examinations for a number of different levels of H.E Chinese, covering such areas as speaking, listening, reading and grammar. I am also very experienced at designing online tests/exams by using Blackboard Learn Test; MS Forms and Google Forms. Teacher training/workshops I have been providing all sorts of teaching related training and workshops for my colleagues and teachers overall the UK. I have provided training/workshops including, A Case Study: Using Google Forms to conduct the Chinese 2A online replacement test; How to use Blackboard Learn-test for your online assessment; How to use Quizlet & Quizlet Live for assisting student's vocabulary study; Screen Capture Technology - 10 useful ways to help your teaching more effective; How to use Kaltura to make your recorded videos, ect.
