About Mina Starks

My goal is to foster a learning environment that prioritizes students first. I am aware that not all students learn the same way, so I strive to tailor my teaching style to focus on the individual. I truly believe that one's education should not be determined by their wealth and that all students should have access to qualified teachers and resources; because of this I wish to work in lower-income districts and with at-risk youth. I am passionate about not only the educational system, but literature as well, and I want to apply my background in English to make a difference in my intended field. Working as a Curriculum Intern has prepared me for the technical part of teaching. Through this internship, I have learned organizational skills, curriculum planning, and communication ability. As a tutor, I learned how to adapt the way I teach to aid different students through their learning experience. My many years as an IT assistant has prepared me for a field that is rapidly changing to include new technology. I use these experiences to shape the way I approach my intended career and maintain a professional and dedicated approach to every task I apply myself too.
