About Minda Andrus

I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Gerontology. From my Human Resource internship at Bethesda Nursing Homes, I have been involved in their personnel documentation system, participated in conflict resolution, conducted exit interviews, learned about their benefits, used human resource information systems, and welcomed new hires. With the human resource coordinator, we worked together to integrate and standardize two employee systems. An additional hands-on experience I gained was teaming up with an Executive Team Leader in Human Resources at Target. Through the Target mentorship I showed initiative in leading huddles on the floor, gained leadership skills through training new hires, assisted in new employee interviews, and learned more about Target’s business goals. Finally, I have gained knowledge about nursing home practices at many different levels by having an internship through LakeView Ranch and service learning at Country Manor. At LakeView Ranch I participated in animal therapy and recreation with the residents, and I implemented an employee recognition program.
