About Mindy Danforth
I have been teaching children in some capacity my entire life. I started out when I was just 15 years old as a park district summer camp teacher and eventually moved on to getting a bachelor's of science degree in elementary education. While working in the brick and mortar classroom I worked on first completing my master's degree in reading education and then continued to take 60 hours of graduate courses above my master's degree. After 22 years of experience in teaching students in person I transitioned to being a virtual teacher. First, I signed on with Vipkid as an online ESL tutor and then with Outschool as a reading tutor. while working for these two companies I am starting up my own freelance tutoring company. My extensive education, many years of experience and passion for teaching young children has prepared me well for this new endeavor in my life. I look forward to continuing to help children to learn to read and to unlock the joy of reading.
