About Mindy Meadows

My experience in the healthcare and community fields spans nearly 30 years, with experience in the dental, specialty medicine, primary care clinics as well as retail pharmacy. Recently I became a credentialed and certified CHW- Community Health worker in the state of Missouri. My region of focus is Eastern Jackson County. From a young age I found volunteering to be a rewarding way to engage with my community. Community Health Work offers the opportunity to blend my passion for community with patient care, focusing on the social drivers of health and DEIB. I also serve as an Executive Board member and volunteer with WestiNd Connection, a non profit organization in Independence Missouri. WestiNd serves the LGBTQ+ community members and their families by offering a safe space, support and community events. As of January 2024, I will be serving as a board and committee member with Save Inc. I am thrilled to expand my knowledge regarding housing disparity and barriers in our city. My hope being that I will be able to offer insight to community needs and be a small part of the solution. On a city level, I serve on the Human Relations Commission for the City of Independence as well as a sub committee that will be addressing and encouraging DEIB with local businesses. I love my community and enjoy finding new ways to get involved.
