About Mindy Shea

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." – Lao Tzu. That's certainly true of my journey from where I came from to where I am now! Growing up in Charlotte, NC my childhood dream was to become an astronaut. In college, reality set in and I decided to be the next best thing.a television reporter. If I couldn't fly the missions, maybe I could be the first journalist to report from space! I spent 10 years reporting, producing and anchoring newscasts before deciding on a new career path, one that lead to nearly a dozen years in luxury hotel sales. In 2006 I joined Visit Savannah as their Group Tour Manager, working primarily with our domestic motorcoach industry. Shortly after coming on board, I started working to help bring Savannah into the international spotlight. For 14 years I worked with both the domestic and international markets as the Director of Tour, Travel, and International Sales. At the beginning of 2022 my focus turned exclusively to our international efforts as the world began to recover from the pandemic and our borders began to reopen for inbound travel. Over the past 19 years I've worked hard to create strong partnerships with our state tourism office, our US-based receptive operators, our representatives abroad, and our international tour operators, all of which are more valuable now than ever. I've enjoyed a track record of not only exceeding my sales goals each year, but also of serving on many industry-related committees and boards and doing volunteer work for the United Way.
