I’m a professional science nerd who loves nothing more than telling science stories and breaking down complex science topics for a general audience. As a Senior Editor, Science in Scholastic Inc.'s Education Solutions group, l write and edit leveled science-related news and reference content for middle school and secondary school students. Previously, as a reporter and editor at Live Science, I wrote and edited daily articles on a general science beat; I also scripted and appeared in Live Science videos, and I produced, wrote and co-hosted the science podcast Life's Little Mysteries. As a writer and producer for the American Museum of Natural History, I created more than 250 videos, soundscapes and interactives for temporary exhibits and permanent halls, such as the Hall of Human Origins, the Hall of Ocean Life, the Hall of Biodiversity and the Hall of Planet Earth. Science is endlessly intriguing, and I strive to share that excitement and wonder in everything I write; whatever the medium or platform, clear explanation and a compelling narrative are top priorities every time. My book "Rise of the Zombie Bugs: The Surprising Science of Parasitic Mind-Control," will be published by Hopkins Press in Spring 2025.
