I started my career at HSBC as a call centre representative and then moved in to Authorisation and finally to Merchant Acquiring. I was the best performer in the first three quarters of 2003 at HSBC Call Centre. I was recognized by my superiors several times for the quality of the services provided to HSBC customers and for my performance excellence. I’m also a VISA certified trainer. I did conduct training's on identifying counterfeit credit cards and avoiding such cards been used at merchant locations island wide.Global Payments was a joint venture with HSBC where the acquiring department was newly managed by Global Payments as a separate entity. It was a very short stay with Global Payments where I was very successful in over achieving all my targets. I developed a 90Mn business to 340Mn in short period of time. My success behind the achievement was target driven dedication and skills I developed throughout my carrier at HSBC.I joined Western Union as an Operations Specialist in 2008 and got promoted several times and left the company as Manager Operations for Sri Lanka & Maldives. I overlook plus locations in Sri Lanka and 14 locations in 10 Islands of Maldives. As the head of operations I’m the back bone of the Western Union body supporting all primary agents and their sub-agents in all types of issue that the locations encounter in serving the customers. I’m responsible for all transactions paid, daily settlements to agents, Data integrity, AML Compliance, STR Filing, CBSL Reporting, Police request, Agent Training's, Vendor management, Organising annual Awards Night and finally meeting the P&L numbers for both countries on Transactions / Revenue.Union Bank of Colombo PLC is present place of work and i overlook the remittance business for the bank as a Senior Manager. I was influential in setting up the Instant Cash remittance business for the bank. Instant Cash tie-up was a success.
