About Minna McFarland

I am a driven and motivated PhD candidate in the Neuroscience Curriculum at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). My research uses complex in vivo electrochemical techniques to investigate the effect of neurosteroids on dopamine release, motivated behavior, and reward signaling. As my research is highly translational, I actively sought out additional training in the Translational Medicine Certificate Program. In addition to my dissertation research, my extracurricular work spans a variety of service and leadership positions. Most recently, I’ve worked on translating the transferrable skills I use in my PhD training (comprehensive research and analysis skills) in programs such as the Venture Catalyst Program at UNC. My experiences and achievements lend proof to my leadership capability and flexibility/adaptability as a scientist.
