About Miranda Nonis

I am a highly motivated Global Health researcher currently focusing on travel measures during pandemics. Previously, I worked as a Policy Analyst with the Public Health Agency of Canada. My role focused on the cultivation and strengthening of international data partnerships. I am passionate about environmental determinants of health, sex and gender based analyses of health policy, and global health security. I have a keen research interest in the lasting health impacts of extreme weather events, as well as environmental carcinogens, specifically pesticide and insecticides. I have a Master of Science in Global Health from the Brighton and Sussex Medical school. Previously, I graduated from Simon Fraser University, where I completed a Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) with a major in Health Sciences, and a minor in International Studies; specialization in International Security and Conflict. In terms of other work interests, I spent a good amount of my undergraduate degree working in the field of STEM outreach, which is a field of work that I keep very close to my heart. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also worked as a Clerk at the testing and immunization centres in British Columbia, Canada. Pronouns: she/her/hers
