About Miranda So
I am a leader and an experienced pharmacist specializing in antimicrobial stewardship and infectious diseases. My clinical practice and research focus on immunocompromised patients, primarily hematology-oncology, stem cell transplant recipients, and solid organ transplant recipients. In addition to my Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree (University of Toronto '10), I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in the field of Epidemiology (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health '21). I am passionate about leading the way to address antibiotic resistance - a major threat to global health that disproportionately affects those less well resourced - through patient-level and system-level interventions. My research work also examines the intersection of antimicrobial use, antimicrobial resistance and public health, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and social determinants of health. Beside clinical practice and research, I have designed and taught courses in the PharmD programs, International Graduate Pharmacy program and supervised pharmacy and medical residents.
