About Mireya Eavey

Mireya Eavey was the founding Executive Director created long-term community economic development strategies for CareerEdge Funders Collaborative designed to provide an exceptional labor force to our region’s growing industries by leveraging community assets and forming high-performing workforce partnerships. She did this by cultivating and advancing strategic development, fundraising, program investments and policy development while supplying organizational reporting to the National Fund for Workforce Solutions. Her passion and expertise have directly impacted thousands of people and positively influenced both public and private sectors to strengthen our community’s future. and help children and families succeed. Ms. Eavey’s contributions encompass empowerment at the individual level, with programs that support people through education, skills training, employment and financial education, to advocacy for families and communities and crafting public policy to benefit the wider community. She works closely with employment, educational partners, government and donors to bring people together to create programs that help increase people’s skills and promotions, while strengthening companies and businesses along with the growth of the individual. Ms. Eavey held the position of Workforce and Project Manager for the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Sarasota County, where she doubled involvement in workforce development, building relationships with 80 employers, community organizations, officials, municipalities and numerous advisory boards. Today, she brings her wide-ranging business acumen and collaborative strengths to increasing the prosperity of people in need who are served by both organizations. Ms. Eavey is the vice-chair board member of the Manatee Community Federal Credit Union, and board of trustees of Doctors Hospital and was the board chair of the Florida Policy Institute.
