About Mischa Vervoordeldonk
My name is Mischa Vervoordeldonk and I’m 23 years old. I graduated from my bachelor’s study Life Sciences at Hogeschool Utrecht in 2021. During this study I completed Minors in immunology and infectious diseases offered by the HBO Life Sciences program in Leiden. I performed my graduation internship at the Tytgat Institute, where I investigated the influence of epigenetic changes in immune cells that are relevant for the development of Crohn's disease using CRISPR-dCas9. Besides my studies I like to make electronic music in my free time. Within the Life Sciences program I chose the Biomedical Research direction. In this field of research I’m most interested in immunology, partly because there is still so much to discover in this field. I wanted to do further research into the functioning of the immune system in, for example, autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatism or colitis, or in the development of cancer. This is why I have completed the Master Infection & Immunology at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
