About Misty Canning

I began working in Healthcare in 1995, at the age of 19, following my Home Health Care course at NSCC. I worked at North Queens Nursing home as a PCW (now called CCA). In 2003 I applied for a position with CDHA in a Satellite Dialysis Clinic located in Liverpool, NS. I continued to work at NQNH part time as well as casual in dialysis. In 2005, I applied for a position with Public Health administering vaccinations to school age children. I maintained my positions at NQNH as well as Dialysis. In 2008, a position became available in Dialysis so I decided to end my employment with both NQNH and Public Health. I currently work Full Time with NSHA at the QGH Dialysis Clinic in Liverpool, NS. I pick up OT shifts whenever possible, sometimes travelling as far as Springhill and Pictou. It is my desire to someday have the opportunity to provide volunteer nursing care and humanitarian relief in foreign, developing countries.
